UV DTF Transfers are long-lasting decals with white ink backing, perfect for hard surfaces of any color.

A few key features:

• Waterproof (hand-wash only, avoid soaking)
• Scratch-resistant (though sharp metal objects can still damage them)
• 3D effect with a glossy finish
• Durable with strong adhesive for permanent placement.

While UV DTF decals are tough, avoid dishwashers and leaving in a hot car as heat can soften the edhesive, cause peeling, cracking, or damage.

 

Which surfaces are suitable for UV DTF transfers?

UV DTF transfers adhere well to a range of hard, smooth surfaces, such as:

• Glass (tumblers, cups, windows, etc.)
• Metals (stainless steel, aluminum, etc.)
• Plastics (water bottles, phone cases, etc.)
• Wood
• Ceramics and porcelain
• Leather

However, it's not recommended to apply UV DTF transfers directly onto fabrics or textiles. The ink and adhesive are specifically designed for hard surfaces.

Just a heads up, if you're new to UV DTF decals, the application process might take a bit of getting used to.

Here are some things to remember before you start:

Firstly, avoid using sublimation glasses, especially frosted, as the wrap might not stick well.

Secondly, skip the alcohol as it may break down the adhesive, so just wash your cup with soapy water and let it dry completely.

Lastly, once the adhesive touches the glass during application, it's not removable or adjustable because it's pretty strong.

 

Step 1:

Wash your cup with soap and make sure it's completely dry. Avoid alcohol as it breaks down the adhesive. Ensure the surface is free of dust and debris. Trim any excess clear carrier sheet around the design before applying to prevent overlapping. Wash your hands and make sure not to use any hand lotion before applying the decal.

Step 2:

Peel back about an inch of the backing on one side, then use scissors to cut off 1/2 inch of the backing, exposing the adhesive. Carefully wrap the decal around your cup using the unexposed part, being careful not to stick the exposed adhesive to the glass. Once you're satisfied with the placement, gently press down the exposed 1/2 inch of adhesive to secure the transfer. Place the cup on a flat surface, or for better results, use our silicone gradle. Then, as you rotate the cup, begin peeling off the backing and pressing the decal onto the glass. Once the decal is applied, take your time to firmly press it onto the surface with your palm, using body temperature to activate the adhesive. This will make peeling easier later and reduce lifting. You can also use a hairdryer on a low setting to help with the process. Squeegee with firm pressure over design.

Step 3:

Slowly peel off the clear carrier sheet from the decal, making sure it doesn't stretch or tear the transfer. If any part of the design lifts as you peel, push it back down and rab with your finger before continuing.

Step 4:

Use your fingers or the soft side of a squeegee to smooth out the decal, starting from the center and working outward. Apply firm pressure to seal the edges of the design.

Step 5:

Don't wash or use the finished project for 24-48 hours to allow the adhesive to cure on the cup.
